Expaya stores the financial information you enter so it can show it back to you. We don't sell it, we don't advertise, and we don't run analytics or tracking of any kind. You can export your data or delete your account permanently at any time, from inside the app.
Expaya is operated by an individual based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You can reach us at support@expaya.app.
When you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted version of your password. We never see your actual password.
When you use the app, we store what you enter: your expenses and income, the categories you create, your pay day, your budgets, your exchange rate, your scheduled payments, and any loans, insurance policies, investments or subscriptions you choose to record. We also store which countries and currencies you selected, and the exchange rate that applied to each transaction on the date it happened.
That's the complete list. There is nothing else.
Your data is stored in a database hosted in Mumbai, India, regardless of which country you live in. If you are in the Gulf, this means your information is held outside your country of residence.
Running the app requires a small number of service providers. Each one is listed here with exactly what it can see.
Expaya lets you paste a bank SMS to fill in an expense, or a broker or fund statement to import holdings. In both cases the text is read entirely inside your own browser and is never sent to us. Only the entries you review and save are stored. If you close the window without saving, the text is gone.
Expaya does not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is your login session, so you don't have to sign in every time. Signing out or deleting your account clears it.
You can see everything stored about you inside the app itself — there is no hidden profile.
You can export your data as CSV files from Settings — one covering your expenses and income, and one covering your loans, insurance, investments, subscriptions, checklist items, categories and budgets. Both are also offered at the moment you delete your account.
You can delete your account and all of its data from Settings, at any time, without contacting us or giving a reason.
Deleting your account removes your data immediately and permanently. It cannot be recovered afterwards, by you or by us — there is no undo and no support request that will bring it back. Please export anything you want to keep first.
Residual copies may persist briefly in our hosting provider's infrastructure before being overwritten in the normal course of operation.
Expaya is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use Expaya after that means you accept the updated version. We do not email about changes.
